This is not meant to be a bragging post but okay maybe a little. And i wanted to share it with you all anyways and party together lol. I just got my platinum expert author status for ezine. If you’re new, you start at basic membership where you’ll have to submit a number of articles before they review your account for an upgrade. Difference with basic and platinum is the time to get your articles approved. Basic members gets their articles approved anytime from 4-7 days or more and platinum authors usually gets their articles approved in 48hrs. Quite the difference there ain’t it.

Why go through the trouble with ezines? Cause ezines gets you alot of traffic to your articles and to your site. This will help in affiliate sales or adsense income.

Okay so there might be only 2 articles at this time of posting but i use a pen name for most of my articles.

Here are some quick pointers for you to write your articles :-

Have 3-4 parts of the article paragraph. Part 1 of the article paragraph is the introduction. Write a short introduction then eloborate for 2-3 sentences.

Paragraph part 2 is the body. Give out some info for sentences 1-2. Then on the 3rd sentence close this paragraph and give a small intro to the 3rd paragraph.

Part 3 is the same as above.

Part 4 is the conclusion of the article and eloborate on how these tips helped you out.

So you’ve heard of the new ftc rules for affiliates and you’re wandering how worried you should be? Some of us affiliates are thinking of packing our bags and calling it quits once the rules take place in Dec09.

But a short disclaimer cause i don’t want my opinions to be considered as a lawyer’s advice cause i’m clearly not one . Okay so these are my opinions and not to be considered professional advice.

There’s not much of a reason to panic now though. FTC is trying to crack down on false promises such as make $1000′s one week from now guaranteed, no work involved and get hundreds from doing so etc. Which is funny cause in Malaysia i see small posters posted at the side of the roads mentioning just this lol. Maybe Malaysia should track them down.

Okay , back to topic. If you’re promoting something, don’t offer false promises but instead offer them your opinions. Don’t go saying something like “i’ll guarantee that you’ll be making lotsa moolah after reading this guide”. No matter how good that guide might be, it’s always the persons efforts that’s going to get him money from this online business. You could instead promote the product and say something honest like “this is one hell of a good guide and is what someone need to kick start their online business” etc. See how this line doesn’t promote false promises but insteads states an opinion.

But i’m from Malaysia or anywhere else in the world and FTC is in the US. So what the hell?!. I won’t be affected. Wrong! As long as someone in the US buys something from your site or affiliate link, you’re automatically eligible for FTC rules. Remember this.

Needless to say, i think that the FTC is going after the big guns but it’s better to be safe than sorry right. If you’re however caught by breaking FTC rules, don’t panic though…yet. As you are given 2 first warnings and if you still don’t comply, it’s fine time.

But like i said, if you’re small scale like i am or most of other affiliates are, we shouldn’t have to worry much as most of the attention will definitely be on the big guns.

Anyways, this is what i think and i’d like to hear your thoughts about this too

Here’s one simple tip that will help you incresae your conversions ten fold. Insert a call to action in the middle of you post. That’s right. This one simple tip will help improve click throughs to your affiliate product and thus, increasing your conversions.

Say for example, you’re writing about an affiliate product. Example an acne product. You’ve got an article pulled from ezines or articledashboard (if you’re lazy to write your own like me), add call to action in 3 places of that article without editing the article which is against the terms. Add in call to actions in the beginning, middle and at the end.

You could put something like this “Click Here To See The Miracle Product That Cured My Acne” or something like that. Be creative but it’s simple call to actions like that that help increase conversions. Why, it’s beacuse we as humans are sub-conconciously do what we’re told. For the example above, we’re told to “Click Here”. See the magic word.
